Shophouses on Panich Rd.,Chacherngsao.
The urban revitalization project in Chacherngsao, Thailand is the series of works according to the run-down quality of the area due to the relocation of bus terminal and the closed rail way station. With the 2 main factors are enough to disturb the liveliness of the area where comprised with markets, old shophouses and urban activities, but the uncontrolled growing of superstoes (as Tesco/Lotus) and flea market are one of the ignored-by-the government problems accelerating the dilapidation. The ideas of this project are kind of using different approaches to tackle the problem. These pictures are taken from a street called "Panich" where the soon to be architectural heritage 100 year old shophouse is located, documented as present condition to use them as one of the pilot project to stumulate people's sense of place and sense of belonging since only on this street that most of the buildings are physically and socially rich. This place could be remebered as the heritage and the pride of Chacherngsao.
